Microsoft Volume Licensing Fulfillment Update

Microsoft business customers should be aware of the latest information related to Microsoft’s Volume Licensing fulfillment processes:

Digital by Choice
Digital by Choice offers you a choice in how you can simplify your media experience, promote environmental awareness around your selection and reduce the cost of managing physical media. With the robust download functionality now available in the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC), you now have a rich viable alternative to physical media delivery. By choosing Digital as your default method for software delivery you benefit from immediate receipt of your software and help reduce your management costs. We encourage you to consider choosing software downloads as your preferred method to receive software updates.

Special Limited N Editions of Windows 7 Operating System Shipment – November 2009
Product Subscription Kit subscribers to N editions of Windows operating system products will receive a special limited shipment in mid-November 2009 with the new N editions of the Windows 7 operating system. Following the November 2009 kit shipment, the next product subscription kit will be in May 2010.
Schedule for Product Subscription Kit Shipments – September 2009 - May 2010
Following the September 2009 kit shipment, Volume Licensing customers with active media subscriptions will receive their next product subscription kit in May 2010. Affected customers are Enterprise Agreement (EA), EA Subscription, and Select License. The kits scheduled for November 2009 and February 2010 have been deferred. (Only customers subscribed to N editions of Windows 7 operating system will receive a special shipment in November 2009.) The May 2010 kit will include updates to applicable subscription kit products released since the September 2009 kit shipment. Kits contain updates to the most widely-used Microsoft products in the languages of your choice. For a complete list, visit: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/fulfillment.mspx

Quarterly Product Subscription Kit Shipments
As of October 2008 monthly product subscription kits replaced quarterly kit shipments for Enterprise Agreement and Select License Agreement Volume License customers with active media subscriptions. Scheduled shipments will be sent in February, May, August and November each year. This change in the frequency of shipments is designed to simplify management of the physical media you receive. Our feedback shows that many customers appreciate fewer shipments of physical media from Microsoft.

The kits contain updates to the most widely-used Microsoft products in the languages of your choice. These product families include Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Operations Manager Server, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, Microsoft Office SharePoint® Server, Microsoft Office Project, Microsoft SQL Server®, Microsoft Systems Management Server Enterprise Edition, Microsoft Office Visio® drawing and diagramming software, Microsoft Visual Studio® development system, the Windows Server® operating system, and the Windows Vista® operating system. For a complete list, visit: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/fulfillment.mspx

All product updates continue to be available as software downloads from the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC). Updates to all products are available either via download from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Services
web site ( https://licensing.microsoft.com) or by purchasing media (CDs/DVDs) from your Microsoft Channel Partner.

Find out about the availability of all new product updates through monthly notifications posted to the Current News section of the Microsoft Volume Licensing Fulfillment User Guide site.
